A WOMAN unable to hug her children at her father’s funeral as she stringently followed the Covid restrictions has described the prime minister’s flouting of the rules as a “kick in the teeth”.
Poole resident Ema Levens, 51, has written to MP Conor Burns calling for a vote of no confidence, branding Boris Johnson a “hypocrite”.
It comes after Mr Johnson and chancellor Rishi Sunak were issued fixed penalty notices for an event where Mr Burns claimed the prime minister was “ambushed by cake”.

Ms Levens told the Daily Echo: “Myself and my husband are key workers, we have worked all the way through the pandemic, myself in retail and my husband in a hospital.
“We have missed out on our family celebrations, I had my 50th birthday in lockdown and didn’t celebrate it.
“I couldn’t give my children a hug at their grandfather’s funeral because they don’t live with me, we were doing what we were told to do."
Only seven people were able to attend Ms Levens' father's funeral due to the lockdown rules at the time.
“The government brought these laws in, told us we must do this and the prime minister especially should be upholding the law", she said.
“The fact he is prime minister, it should be a different punishment for him than an FPN, he probably spends more on his lunch.
“We have done what we can do to protect vulnerable people, it feels like he is saying ‘I am better than you’. He should hang is head in shame.”
A poll on the Daily Echo website, shows 80 per cent of the 932 people who voted think the prime minister and chancellor should resign.
Fellow Tory MP Michael Fabricant claimed Mr Johnson was having a drink with colleagues after a shift, “like nurses”.

Ms Levens slammed this response, saying she and her colleagues would never sit together at lunch and did everything they could to keep people safe.
“It’s about public trust,” she continued. “It’s a bit of a kick in the teeth”.
Both Mr Burns and MP for Poole Sir Robert Syms were contacted for a comment but did not provide a response.
The Daily Echo contacted all the MPs in the conurbation in the light of the news about the fines.
Only one returned a call - Sir Christopher Chope.
In Ms Levens’ letter to Mr Burns, she described being “beyond angry” and said the prime minister “should not be beyond reproach”.
The letter said: “At no time did we feel that it was right and acceptable to socialise. We went to work. We came home. We did not see our families or our friends.
“I believe that your party has only one option and that is for a motion to be brought for a vote of no confidence in the prime minister and the other members of parliament who have been issued with fixed penalty notices. They should not be beyond reproach in this issue.”
Tweeting after the FPNs were issued, Mr Burns said it was a "big job to rebuild trust" but the government must focus on delivery for the people every day led by the PM".
