A MAN has been taken to hospital this morning following a garage fire that spread to an attached property.
Three fire crews were called to Forest Edge Drive in St Leonards at 7.16am on Easter Sunday following reports of a large blaze.
A man was taken to hospital with smoke inhalation and minor burns to his right arm.
Fire crews from Ferndown, Redhill Park and Verwood attended, and the fire was extinguished using four breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets and a main line.

A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue said: “Residents heard an explosion around 7.10am. They looked out the window and could see serious amounts of smoke coming out of the garage.
“With the intensity of the fire, it had definitely been going on for some time before then.
“Everything is pointing to an electrical issue.”

Other residents of Forest Edge Drive have also reported hearing the loud bang early on Easter Sunday.
One said: “We heard a boom at around 7am this morning. My dog started barking.
"We heard fire engines outside, so we went to see what was going on."
