RESIDENTS in the Poole area are set for a jam-packed Platinum Jubilee celebration in June with a community party offering a range of festivities.
A community party for residents in and around Merley will be held in the field next to the Down in the Woods Nursery off Chichester Walk on Sunday, June 5.
The party, celebrating the Queen’s 70th year on the throne, will feature a host of free activities and entertainment for the whole family. Festivities will include:
- Five bouncy castles
- Face painting
- A DJ and live music
- Soft play
- Sumo wrestling suits
- A waterslide
- Craft zone and more
It will be open to anyone in the local area however there is no parking available on site. Visitors are encouraged to walk, cycle or use public transport.
An organiser said: “We would love for as many Merley residents as possible to attend the community party and make it as special as possible as it will be a lovely way for everyone to get together after the last two years.”
Applications to Dorset Council for temporary traffic restrictions for street Jubilee events will close on April 21, with more than 90 applications having been received so far.
