THREE people have been sentenced by the courts in closed-doors hearings over using motor vehicles without insurance.
The cases were all dealt with at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, April 19.
None of the offenders were presents at court, but given the nature of the offences the cases could be dealt without them attending.
The details of these three offences is as follows.
Richard Edwards James Waldron, aged 35 and of Hillary Road, Somerford, pleaded guilty to using a Sinnis motorcycle in Christchurch Road, Highcliffe, on March 8 without insurance. He was fined £120 and ordered to pay £34 surcharge and £110 costs. His driving record was endorsed with six points. He also admitted not having a valid test certificate for the motorcycle, with the MOT expiring on December 9, 2020. He received no separate penalty for this matter.
Istvan Pirko, aged 32 and of Ashley Road, Poole, admits using a Mazda car in Alder Road, Poole, on July 19, 2021, without insurance. He was fined £346 and ordered to pay £35 surcharge and £110 costs. He was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for six months. This was an obligatory disqualification due to repeat offending. He also pleaded guilty to using the car when its front nearside headlight was defective. He received no separate penalty for this offence.
Kenny Pettitt, aged 29 and of Sunnyhill Road, Poole, was convicted of using a Ford car in Ringwood Road, Verwood, on February 12 without insurance. He was fined £100 and ordered to pay £34 surcharge and £110 costs. He was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for six months. This was an obligatory disqualification due to repeat offending.
