A MAN has been disqualified from driving for five years after he was caught drink driving at more than four times the legal limit.
Sam White, aged 28, was alleged to have driven a motor vehicle at New Milton Railway Station on September 29, 2021, with 155 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
The legal limit is 35 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
White, whose address was given as Elizabeth Crescent, Hordle, pleaded guilty to a single charge of drink driving at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, April 20.
The bench committed the defendant to prison for 16 weeks, suspended for 12 months. The offence was deemed to have crossed the custody threshold due to the “very high” alcohol reading.
The suspended sentence included a requirement to carry out 60 hours of unpaid work and have treatment for alcohol dependency for six months.
White was also ordered to pay £128 surcharge and £85 costs.
