A DORSET hospital has launched a survey to help understand how inclusive services are to members of the LGBT+ community.
University Hospitals Dorset is seeking feedback from patients who have had a hospital appointment in the last 12 months via an anonymous inclusion survey.
Some 40 NHS trusts are taking part in the two-minute survey, commissioned by NHS England as part of the national NHS Rainbow Badge Scheme.
The results of the survey will help trusts gain foundation, bronze, silver or gold accreditation based on their current LGBT+ inclusion work.
Debbie Robinson, diversity and inclusion lead at University Hospitals Dorset, said: “Inclusivity is one of our core values at UHD and we want to ensure we honour this for all of our patients, colleagues and visitors.
“We would like as many of our patients and service users as possible, whether they are part of the LGBT+ community or not, to complete this survey. The feedback will be essential in supporting our work to reduce the barriers to healthcare that are faced by the LGBT+ community.”
