Motorists have been warned of 'gridlock' as a busy road closure is causing long delays across the conurbation.
Mannings Heath roundabout in Poole is closed for five days for resurfacing works.
The road closed on Monday morning.
The roundabout and key linked roads will be closed 24 hours a day for the entire period of works and are expected to re-open at 6am on Saturday April 30.
All approaches to the roundabout will be closed to traffic.
Bus company, Morebus reported delays of nearly an hour on Monday.
Due to the closure of Mannings Heath for BCP roadworks, we are seeing delays of up to 50 minutes on routes 11, 14 and X6 due to displaced traffic queuing along Ringwood Road into Poole. Routes 16 and 17 are also seeing delays of up to 20 minutes due to the same cause. ^JB

A spokesperson also said:"Displaced traffic from Mannings Heath has gridlocked Ringwood Road going into Poole. The x6 is running approx 1 hour late due to this."
BCP Council have described the work as 'vital'.
Chaos on gravel hill, arrowsmith & magna rds too - would suggest at least an extra 20 mins for rush hour journeys this week if you MUST use the car! Sadly I have to transport children in care from one side of poole to other side of bournemouth so no choice (too far to cycle!) https://t.co/4A7RApBSh9
