A WOMAN has been fined by the courts for assaulting a police officer in Lymington.
Holly Samantha Newman, aged 48, initially pleaded not guilty to the offence of assaulting PC Marc Vincent by beating him in the New Forest town on July 23 last year.
However, when Newman, whose address was given as Tithe Barn, Lymington, appeared in the dock at Southampton Magistirates' Court on February 17 she changed her plea to guilty.
The case was adjourned for a pre-sentence report to be prepared by the probation service.
The defendant was back in the court on April 22 to be sentenced.
She was fined £100 and ordered to pay £50 compensation to PC Vincent.
