THERE will be a beacon lighting event on Thursday June 2 from 5-10pm at Mudeford Quay for the Queen's Jubilee.
The event will include fun fair rides and food, a children’s candle-lit procession from Avon Beach to the Quay led by a piper at 9pm, candle lit boats in the harbour and music from the British Legion Band.
At 9.35pm, the Bournemouth Piper will play “Diu Regnare”, at 9.40pm buglers and cornets will play ‘Majesty’, and at 9.45pm there will be beacon lighting by the Mayor (at the same time across the country), assisted by Christchurch Scouts.
Entrance to the event is free.
There will also be a choir from 1.30pm and raising of the Union Jack, at the Old Town Hall in Saxon Square, the town crier will arrive shortly after at 2pm.
