A TAXI with no brake lights and a van with dangerous defects were among the vehicle offences reported on a “high harm” route in Dorset last week.
Dorset Road Casualty Reduction Officers were stationed on a section of the A35 in Dorset on Thursday, April 28, and discovered a slew of offences involving vans and trailers.
Among the offences found was a camper van with a Statutory Off Road Notification (SORN). This is made when a vehicle is taken ‘off the road’ and you want to stop taxing and insuring it. A SORN means the vehicle cannot be parked or driven on any kind of public road.
Also found by officers were:
- A taxi with no brake lights
- Camper van with light defects
- An insecure load of a mini digger loose on a trailer
- Two vans with window tints below legal limits
- A van prohibited with several dangerous defects
- A van with no MOT
