A FIRE in the open near a skate park in Poole is believed to have been started deliberately.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire Service were called at 7.20pm on Saturday, April 30, following reports that a bush was on fire near the Bourne Valley Skate Park just off Turbary Close.
One crew from Poole attended the incident and extinguished the fire which was possibly started on a pile of rubbish in the open area. They conducted an on-foot patrol with Dorset Police and concluded that the fire had been “maliciously started”.
Several young people using the skating facilities were reportedly in the area at the time.
Once ensuring the area was safe, the Poole crew departed the scene at 7.45pm and left the investigation with police.
