If you are looking for a new four-legged friend, one of these three might fit the bill.

Currently being cared for by Waggy Tails Rescue in Dorset, these dogs are all seeking forever homes.

The charity, based in Wimborne, rescues and rehomes within East Dorset and West Hampshire, enabling them to conduct prehoming checks and follow up visits.

Waggy Tails also runs an advice service to support owners dealing with pet problems, directing enquiries to the best available help if necessary.

If you aren't in a position to adopt a dog right now, you can still offer your support by making a donation.

But if you do have the time and space to welcome a new pet into your home, perhaps one of these handsome hounds could be your brand-new BFF.

Frank

Bournemouth Echo:

Breed: French Bulldog

Age: 2 years

Frank was very anxious when he first arrived but is now settling down and enjoys playing with a ball.

Frank needs some training as he is strong on the lead, so will need time and patience from an owner experienced with bull breeds.

He is happy with other dogs when out and about and wants to make friends.

Frank is a dog who likes a one-to-one relationship, so needs to be the only pet in his new home.

For more information about Frank, visit the Waggy Tails website.

Toby

Bournemouth Echo:

Breed: Jack Russell

Age: 13 years

Toby is very active for his age and loves his walks provided he has plenty of opportunity to sniff.

He enjoys being with people and is sociable with other dogs.

Toby is very affectionate and loves getting time to climb onto laps or just having company. He would love a home where he gets plenty of attention and is not left on his own for long periods.

Toby is on a special diet which will need to continue in his new home – he will be rehomed under a special contract where the charity will assist with vet fees.

For more information about Toby, visit the Waggy Tails website.

Trey

Bournemouth Echo:

Breed: Goldendoodle

Age: 1 year

Trey was born with a foreshortened, deformed front leg, but as he has never known anything else gets around with no problems.

Although his behaviour is getting much better, he can still be wilful and strong and also quite vocal.

He didn’t like his harness initially and used to run away from it and then refuse to move once it was on but, now knows he doesn’t get a fun walk unless he has it on, he has calmed down leaving the house and enjoys his walks.

He is a friendly dog who enjoys making new canine friends and is learning how to approach them politely and can now walk away happily.

Trey loves his food and can be a bit of an opportunist when things are left out but is not destructive when left and he waits patiently by the door for his foster mum to return.

Trey has a loving personality and will be a great companion for the right person.  He is looking for a special home where his new owners will not be worried about his disability.
