A DISQUALIFIED motorist has been jailed after he was caught behind the wheel and drink driving within weeks of receiving a suspended sentence.
Scott Leon Melborne was spared immediate custody in December 2020 having been convicted of driving while disqualified in Barrack Road, Christchurch, in October 2020.
The 51-year-old was back before Poole Magistrates’ Courts in January this year for allegedly driving while disqualified and with 72 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath in Holdenhurst Road, Bournemouth, on January 18, 2021.
The legal limit is 35 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
Melborne, of Wharncliffe Road, Highcliffe, pleaded guilty to both offences and was sentenced at the same court on May 4.
Magistrates committed the defendant to prison for a total of 26 weeks.
The offender was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 20 months and 29 days.
