DOG rescue charity Staffie and Stray Rescue is holding a rehoming parade for dogs searching for their forever home.
The event will start promptly at 10am at West Parley Memorial Hall on Sunday, May 15.
The rescue team will speak about each dog individually and bring each dog in one at a time for people to meet.
After this presentation, all the dogs will head out into the adjoining field where guests can go around to chat to their handlers in more depth about the type of home they are looking for.
One of the dogs attending the event is Elsa.
Welfare operations manager at the charity, Sophie Vye, said: "Elsa is a Cane Corso cross American Bulldog and tips the scales at 50kg! She arrived with us after another rescue asked us for help.
"She had been living outside and had been bred from. She is nicknamed the 'BFG' by her foster home and is such a loving and cuddly girl who really deserves her happy ever after.
"Another dog attending is Tyra. Tyra is a small blue Staffie who was surrendered by her previous owner as she was not getting on with the resident dog and not getting daily walks. She has also been overlooked as she is reactive towards other dogs. Tyra is looking for a foster or forever home.
"Jasper is a one-year-old New Zealand Huntaway Sheepdog who was purchased on Gumtree but very sadly he was given up again after the child in the home said that they didn’t like the dog. Poor Jasper ended up in police kennels and is now in our kennels waiting for a foster or forever home.
Staffie and Stray Rescue have a thorough criteria for applicants to consider before applying.
The dogs that come into rescue have often been let down once before or even multiple times before arriving in rescue, so it is vital that they are not being set up to fail once they are in the care of the rescue.
No other dogs are allowed to attend the event as the rescue specialises in more challenging and complex dogs, many of them are dog reactive.
If you are interested in adopting or fostering, application forms must be completed first. These can be found on the rescue's website www.staffieandstrayrescue.co.uk or will be available on the day of the rehoming parade.
