A NEW restaurant in Bournemouth town centre has had its opening date pushed back.
Mexican chain Tortilla will now open its 49th restaurant at 23 Old Christchurch Road on Tuesday, May 24.
It was originally due to open its doors to customers on Friday, May 20.
People will be able to enjoy a free lunch between 12pm and 2pm on May 24, instead of May 20 as previously reported.
The Bournemouth branch will be the chain’s first in Dorset.
Jason Thomas, chief operations officer at Tortilla, said: “We can’t wait to introduce our brand to Bournemouth.
“We have a fantastic location on Old Christchurch Road which will provide locals and visitors with a convenient and delicious spot for lunch or dinner, as we look forward to welcoming plenty of happy customers in store and playing our part in this thriving community.”
Covering two floors and seating up to 40 people, the restaurant’s opening will create 25 to 30 new jobs across front-of-house, kitchen, and management roles.
The site will be open for eat in, takeaway and delivery via Deliveroo in June.
A two for one offer will be available on main meals when dining in between Wednesday, May 25 and Friday, May 27.
The menu includes items such as tacos, burritos, bowls and quesadillas.
