A POPULAR venue in Christchurch has introduced eco-friendly furniture in a move towards a greener future. 

The Boathouse café and restaurant has added fifteen environmentally friendly bench and table sets to its outdoor seating area.

The furniture was made by independently owned company British Recycled Plastic who continue to be a market leader in recycled plastic products that divert waste away from landfill.

The move by The Boathouse comes in efforts to develop the brand, whilst improving its sustainability as a business.

Richard Slater, operations manager at The Boathouse, said: “Our image is an important part of our business, so when we were looking for outdoor furniture we wanted something that looked the part as well as being functional.

“The benches from British Recycled Plastic were just what we needed; strong, sturdy, and stylish. A very busy year later and they still look like new.”
