AN unauthorised encampment of around 16 caravans and vehicles has been set up in Bournemouth.
BCP Council said it is working with Dorset Police in relation to the encampment at Strouden Park playing fields.
A BCP Council spokesperson said: “BCP Council is aware of an Unauthorised Encampment consisting of 16 living units and associated vehicles at Strouden Park playing fields.
“BCP Council are working with Dorset Police on this matter.”
A Dorset Police spokesperson said: "Dorset Police received a report at 5.50pm on Thursday 12 May 2022 relating to an unauthorised encampment at Strouden Park in Bournemouth.
"Officers have been carrying out regular patrols in the area and have been liaising with those present as well as the local authority.
"We have been liaising with the council to monitor the situation and will be taking appropriate further action as required."
Elsewhere, an encampment is also in place on private land off Stony Lane in Christchurch.
