FIREFIGHTERS tackled a house fire which saw a blaze spread from a bedroom to the roof space in the early hours.
Emergency services were called to the property in Allenview Road, Wimborne, at 12.37am on Sunday, May 15.
One neighbour said they came out of their home and saw the first-floor bedroom “engulfed with flames”.
Crews from Wimborne, Poole and Redhill Park attended the scene.
The fire involved a bedroom and was well alight when fire engines arrived.
Two crews who were initially at the property requested assistance from a further two crews, while the ambulance service was also called to treat a man suffering smoke inhalation.
A spokesperson for Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “The bedroom fire spread to the roof space and was extinguished using four breathing apparatus, two hose reels, a thermal imaging camera checking for hotspots and positive pressure ventilation to clear the smoke.
“The cause of the fire is under investigation.“
The Daily Echo has contacted the emergency services for more details.
