A BEACH cleaning volunteer is turning plastic and litter collected into saleable art.
Sue Coates, from Westbourne, has recently started creating and selling artwork from rubbish she collects along Bournemouth beach.
Sue's art has recently caught the interest of the local community after she began posting her work in the Westbourne Community Group on Facebook.
Sue said: "Because I do litter picking with Dorset Devils I find all sorts of stuff on the beach and I have been accumulating lots of interesting pieces of litter that I find and see if I can put together a picture with it.
"It takes around four hours to put the pieces of art together because you have to lay it all out and work out where to put everything and make sure all the colours look good together.
"One interesting thing I did find on the beach not too long ago was a piece of Lego from 1997 after a shipping container fell off a ship off the coast of Cornwall and thousands of pieces of Lego fell in the sea and they are still washing up on beaches today. Most are usually found around Cornwall so I was surprised when I found it."
