A NEW five-star hotel resort in Bournemouth is set to open next month after the first phase of a £25million refurbishment project.
The Nici features 73 bedrooms, including 10 garden suites with outdoor hot tubs, a vibrant bar and restaurant.
The rebranded Savoy site on the West Cliff also features an extended outdoor terrace, refreshed meeting and event spaces and revived garden and pool, with private poolside cabanas.
Renowned UK hotelier and owner Nicolas Roach, chairman of the Nicolas James Group, said: “We are delighted to be nearing completion of the first phase of our extensive refurbishment, introducing The Nici, our brand new five-star hotel concept, to this vibrant seaside down – the response and support so far has been incredible, with a lot of interest both locally and further afield.
“Our aim is to provide Bournemouth with the destination hotel it deserves; transforming the town’s accommodation landscape and celebrating this award-winning coastline.”
The Nici has drawn inspiration from Miami’s South Beach.
The hotel, which was bought by Nicolas James Group last year, will now include a 13-seat cinema room, children’s games room and an outdoor activities centre.
Phase one of the refurbishment is almost complete, with a full re-brand and grand opening this June.
Plans have already taken shape for the next phase of the development, with the introduction of a new 30-metre central outdoor pool and garden restaurant, followed by a spa and fitness centre, as well as a rooftop bar and restaurant.
As reported, Nicolas James Group has submitted amendments for the next phases of its development, which have been tabled with BCP Council’s planning department.
A statement from the hotel's owners said: “The region of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole is a fantastic destination at any time of the year.
“Beyond the miles of clean sandy beaches, harbours, quays, and rivers there is a huge variety of things to do and see. The area is a paradise for water sport and sailing enthusiasts, cyclists, runners, walkers, and hikers.”
Rates for The Nici are from £175 per room, per night.
