A “SIGNIFICANT amount” of fines were dished out to a lorry driver for carrying too many logs.
Dorset Police Traffic Unit ordered a lorry with dozens of large logs in its cargo into the weighbridge site in Ashley Heath due to the load “looking very heavy”.
Officers found the timber carrying vehicle to be well overweight in the tractor unit, on one axle and on the combination overall.
A Dorset Traffic Cops spokesperson said: “A significant amount of fines ensued and an appropriate amount of unloading and re-stacking to make this vehicle safe to travel in.”
