EMERGENCY sewerage repairs taking place in Shore Road, Poole is expected to last another couple of weeks.
Wessex Water originally said the works would take two days, but due to “difficult ground conditions” the work is taking longer.
The work is to repair a damaged pipe near the junction of Haven Road, and is now being prolonged due to thick layers of concrete above the affected pipe.
Temporary traffic lights will remain in place for the duration of the work.
There are no reports of major delays being caused by the traffic lights.

A Wessex Water spokesman said: “We were hopeful that the pipe could be repaired in a few days, but the ground conditions are proving challenging.
“We would like to apologise for any inconvenience being caused and thank local people for their understanding and patience while we complete the emergency repairs.”
Wessex Water has written to local residents and met a number or people in person to explain what the work involves.
The company is avoiding carrying out work at night which would cause significant noise disruption for residents nearby.
Customers can continue to use their sewerage services as normal. Tankers are being used to maintain sewage flows in the area.
