A SHOPPING district in Poole is to be rebranded ahead of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
The Kingland development is set to become ‘Queenland’ on Thursday June 2 as part of celebrations held in Poole for the jubilee.
The area, which adjoins the Dolphin Shopping Centre, will play host to a street party, with mobile disco providers, The Hush Club, selling drinks from its sequinned DJ booth.
There will also be street party merchandise available for memorable photo opportunities, including Queen masks, as well as English ‘afternoon teas in a box’ available to buy.
The celebrations will run from 2pm to 6.30pm, and a number of retailers in ‘Queenland’ Crescent will be extending their opening hours to keep the party going.
John Grinnell, centre manager at The Dolphin Centre, said: “We are looking forward to celebrating this memorable occasion with our visitors."
The street party is one of many events being held in Poole for the jubilee; The Dolphin Shopping Centre will also be running a ‘Jubilee Journey’ trail between May 30 and June 5.
John added: "There will be something for all ages to enjoy at the Dolphin Centre across the week to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, and we expect it to be a hit.
“The bank holiday celebrations provide a unique opportunity for the local community to come together and enjoy the centre’s festivities surrounding this remarkable historic milestone.”
