A WELL-received book by a New Forest cameraman about his experience filming Goshawks is now available on paperback due to demand.
Goshawk Summer is a book which recounts Ringwood-raised James Aldred's experience filming a Gos nest in the New Forest over the summer of 2020 during lockdown.
The book was a hit locally and was also shortlisted for the Richard Jeffries Award for Nature writing.
James, who spoke to the Echo last year about his new venture, will now see his book released on paperback having previously only sold it via online.
From June 2, Goshawk Summer will be available to buy for £9.99 in local book stores including Waterstones.
A review of the book by BBC Wildlife said: “Wildlife filmmakers are renowned for their patience and concentration – qualities evident in Aldred’s entrancing, acutely observed, beautifully paced diary of the secretive raptor’s breeding season. Fascinating.”
