A WEST PARLEY home is to be extended and altered to create seven 2-bed flats and one single-bed flat.
Dorset Council has agreed the changes at 92 Dudsbury Road – despite the objections of neighbours, some complaining that alterations to the original plans, in light of objections, have done little to meet their previous concerns.
One claimed that the alterations since the last application was refused in November 2021 had made the outlook from their property worse.
Other concerns raised include parking, with customers from the nearby Horns Inn often leaving their cars alongside the property, and claims that the road was sometimes dangerous with it being used as a “rat run.” Others said the development would be out of keeping with the rest of the area where many of the homes are bungalows.
Despite the neighbour’s fears Dorset Highways raised no objection and West Parley Parish Council did not object to the changes.
