A CAR dealership in Poole has secured permission to expand its showroom and workshop for an additional franchise.

Horizon Motor Company has been given the green light for the development of the Ringwood Road site, which will create 16 new jobs, by BCP Council officers.

At present the dealership is home to Horizon Honda Poole.

The applicant had seen a previous application refused due to the proposed height and sighting of the extension.

A report by planning officer Monika Kwiatkowska on the approved scheme said: “The proposed scheme would provide the economic benefits associated with the expansion of the existing business at the site.

“Having regard to the amended proposals, they overcome the previously raised concerns and the clear benefits of the proposal would outweigh the non-compliance of the proposed scheme with regards to the biodiversity enhancement provision.“

Horizon Motor Company has occupied the site since the 1970s, celebrating their 50th year in Ringwood Road last year.
