A VOLUNTEER at a disabled club in Poole has said they have been left "deeply upset" after its van was broken into during the jubilee weekend.
It is unknown who committed the crime, but somebody forced through the lock a Ford Transit, which belongs to Poole Disabled Club
They then unbolted the driver’s seat, stole it and cut the seatbelts to the passenger seats.
Nothing else was stolen from the van.
Chris Harries, a volunteer mini bus driver at Poole Disabled Club, was first alerted to the incident on Wednesday, June 8 when he went to meet up at the club.
He said: “The people or person who did this has no moral decency.
“We’re a charity of all volunteers which meets up every Wednesday and we have limited funds.
“It’s deeply upsetting that somebody would do this.
“I don’t have words to describe these people.”
Since the crime took place, there have been people offering to provide a new seat and replace the seatbelts. There was even a mention of a fundraiser for the van.
Chris said he is “grateful” to the people who offered their help.
A spokeswoman for Dorset Police said: "Dorset Police received a report at around 2.30pm on Thursday 9 June 2022 that a minibus had been broken into in Wimborne Road in Poole.
"The incident occurred between Thursday 2 June and Sunday 5 June 2022.
"It is reported that damage was caused to a seatbelt and a seat was stolen from the vehicle.
"Enquiries are ongoing. No arrests have been made."
