A BOURNEMOUTH man has been fined by the courts for throwing down a cigarette butt.
Alamagir Amangir, of Queen Mary Avenue, Bournemouth, was proved via single justice procedure to have thrown down the cigarette butt in Birmingham on November 22, 2021.
Court papers stated the 38-year-old threw down the litter in Bull Street, a place to which section 87 of the environmental protection act 1990 applied.
Amangir was not present at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court for sentencing on Tuesday, June 14.
Magistrates fined the defendant £220 and ordered him to pay a victim surcharge of £34.
He was also ordered to pay costs of £85.
