A spokesperson for South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 14.30hrs today to a road traffic collision in the Wimborne area.
"We sent a doctor, a critical care car and four double-crewed land ambulances. We conveyed three patients to Poole Hospital and one to Royal Bournemouth Hospital, by land ambulance”.
Police later said two people were taken to Poole Hospital and the other two to Royal Bournemouth Hospital.
The road closure caused congestion throughout the area through Merley, Ferndown and Bear Cross.
A diversion was put in place through Ferndown Industrial Estate.
The road reopened around 4.50pm.
