A DRIVER has appeared in court for speeding at 77mph on a dual carriageway in Poole.
Wayne Mark Smyth was alleged to have driven a Vauxhall car on the A3049 Dorset Way on August 13 last year at a speed exceeding the 50mph.
Court papers stated that he was clocked travelling 27mph above the limit.
Smyth, aged 32, pleaded guilty to a single charge of speeding when he appeared in the dock at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on June 7.
The defendant, whose address was given as Moorvale Road, Bournemouth, was fined £666 and ordered to pay a £67 surcharge and £110 costs.
His driving record was endorsed with six points by magistrates.
