A WOMAN in Poole sustained a puncture wound on her arm after she was bitten by a Bullmastiff dog on Saturday, June 11.
The dog, which was on its lead being walked by a man and woman, allegedly lunged towards the female victim and bit her arm.
She sustained a puncture wound to her arm and bruising before going into the post office where she received help.
The woman was walking past The Pilot in Adastral Road, Canford Heath when the incident happened, at approximately 12pm.
The dog is described as a brindle-coloured Bullmastiff.
The man walking with the dog is described as white, aged in his late 20s, about five feet seven inches tall and of a slight build with short brown hair.
The woman who was with him is described as being aged in her 20s and of a slim build.
Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
Police Constable Jennie Sykes-Martin, of Dorset Police, said: “I am appealing to the owners of the dog concerned or anyone who thinks they know them to get in touch with us.
“There may have been witnesses in the area at the time of the incident and I would like to speak to anyone who may have information that can help with my investigation.”
