A CAR has been seized and its driver urged to come forward after it was clocked speeding 40mph over the speed limit in Bournemouth.
Officers from Dorset Police’s No Excuse team were conducting speed checks along Broadway Lane in Muscliff on the evening of Tuesday, June 21, following complaints over vehicles speeding on the 30mph road.
According to police, most vehicles kept within the speed limit until a grey Volkswagen Golf was detected travelling at 70mph from Castle Lane West towards Shillingstone Drive.
The vehicle accelerated towards where the officers were stood at the side of the road and the driver failed to stop when instructed to do so. A short time later, the vehicle was found parked unattended in a back road.
A No Excuse spokesperson said: “We have seized it for safe keeping. Is it yours? Give us a call on 101 to discuss the offences. Enquires will continue to find the driver.”
