A JUDICIAL review is set to take place over BCP Council’s sex establishment policy.
The High Court has granted the applicant, who cannot be named for legal reasons, leave for the matter to proceed to judicial review.
This was after an oral application was made at a Bristol Civil Justice Centre hearing on June 17.
A date for the judicial review hearing has not yet been set although it is expected that it will take place in autumn or winter this year.
BCP Council’s sex establishment policy, which covers sexual entertainment venues, sex shops and sex cinemas, was adopted in the past year. It is not due for a review until 2026.
The conurbation currently has three licenced sexual entertainment venues, all of which are in Bournemouth town centre, with Wiggle and For Your Eyes Only in Old Christchurch Road and Club Temptation in Yelverton Road.
