A MAN in Boscombe has been hospitalised with life-threatening injuries after being assaulted by a man.
A 67-year-old local man fell to the ground and was knocked unconscious by the male suspect.
The victim was taken to hospital by ambulance where he remains with life-threatening injuries. His next of kin has been made aware.
It is also reported that the male suspect assaulted another man, who sustained cuts and bruising.
A woman, who tried to intervene and help was also pushed to the ground by the suspect.
He then stole an electric scooter from another man before making off from the scene towards the Pokesdown area.
The offender is described as white, of large build and with short dark hair. He was wearing a grey tracksuit.
No arrests have been made and a cordon is currently in place at the scene.
Dorset Police were alerted to the incident in Christchurch Road, Boscombe on Thursday, June 30 at 9.52pm.
There will be an increased police presence in the area and anyone who has concerns is encouraged to contact officers from the local neighbourhood policing team.

Detective Inspector Shaun Inkpen, of Bournemouth CID, said: “We are making a number of enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the incident, which has left a man with very serious head injuries.
“I am appealing for any witnesses who have not yet spoken with the police to please come forward as they may be able to help with our investigation.
“Also, I am particularly keen to speak to the woman who tried to intervene to establish whether she sustained any injuries and the man who had the electric scooter taken from him. They may have vital information that could also assist us.
“Anyone with information about who the offender may be is asked to contact us urgently as well as anyone who may have relevant dashcam footage.”

A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 21.42hrs on Thursday 30 June to an incident in Boscombe.
"We sent a double-crewed land ambulance, an operations officer and a doctor, and conveyed one patient to Poole Hospital by land ambulance."
Conservative councillor for Boscombe West, Cllr Jane Kelly, said: “These kind of incidents happen everywhere and all the time. It isn’t exclusive to Boscombe.
“I’m very sad for the man assaulted and his family and hope he recovers quickly.”
Boscombe West councillor Lewis Allison added: "I'm heartbroken to once again hear of violent crime taking place in Boscombe.
"I want to thank the members of the community who put themselves at risk to assist the man who was being assaulted.
"I would reiterate the calls from the police for any witnesses to come forward and encourage Boscombe residents to do what they can to assist them in tackling anti-social behaviour by reporting all incidents directly to the police."
