A MAN has appeared in court over an alleged life-threatening assault in Boscombe.
Michael James Parker, aged 31, has been charged with two counts of unlawfully and maliciously causing grievous bodily harm with intent and a single charge of assault by beating.
These allegations related to a reported incident in Christchurch Road on Thursday, June 30.
Parker, whose address was given as Grosvenor Gardens, Boscombe, appeared in the dock at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Monday, July 4.
He did not enter a plea to the charges during the short hearing.
Parker was remanded into custody, with the case sent to Bournemouth Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing due to take place on August 1.
Police were called to reports of an incident in Christchurch Road shortly before 10pm on June 30.
A 67-year-old local man was taken to hospital with injuries that were described as life-threatening.
