A MAN from Bournemouth has been given a two-year driving ban and a court bill of more than £2,400 for three offences of failing to give information relating to the identification of a driver.
Rashid Alshafi was accused of not giving the relevant details to Avon and Somerset Constabulary for three separate incidents when it was alleged the driver of a vehicle had been guilty of an offence.
The charges were proved under the single justice procedure, with the case dealt with in a close-doors session at Bath Magistrates’ Court on July 4.
Alshafi, 24 and of St Peter’s Road, was not present at the court when the lone magistrate issued a fine totalling £1,980, surcharge totalling £198 and costs totalling £270.
Six penalty points were determined for each offence with the defendant’s driving record endorsed.
The magistrate issued an obligatory disqualification for two years.
