AN air ambulance landed on the beach at Durdle Door during one of two separate incidents at the beauty spot on Saturday afternoon.
Kimmeridge Coastguard was called to reports of a person unwell on the beach who had taken on water and was subsequently airlifted to hospital.
A spokesperson for Kimmeridge Coastguard said: “On arrival we assisted the other assets with crowd control helping secure the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance that had landed on the beach.
“With the Coastguard teams stretcher carrying the person to helimed ready to be transferred to hospital and ensuring a safe take off from the many people on the beach, all teams stood down, returned to station, completed the report forms, re-stowed the vehicles and were once again ready for service.”
Earlier in the day, a person suffered a medical episode on the footpath and was tended to by the ambulance service.
Both incidents were attended by Kimmeridge Coastguard, Lulworth Coastguard, South Western Ambulance Service, Lulworth responders and the Lulworth Estate rangers.
The spokesperson added: “With the weather set to be very hot and sunny again this week, everyone's ready with pagers by their bed sides at night ready to respond 24/7 if needed.
“As always if you find yourself on the coast and confronted with an emergency situation then dial 999 'Ask For Coastguard'”.
