COVID-19 cases are up in the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) region, while the wider Dorset area sees a slight decrease.
As the percentage of people testing positive for coronavirus continued to increase across the UK, the infection rate in the Dorset Council region has remained similar to the previous week.
However, the number of people in hospital in Dorset with the virus has risen steeply since the last update on July 4.
The current number of Covid-19 patients in Dorset hospital beds has risen from 81 to 127, despite the percentage of people testing positive in the region dropping slightly from 3.8 per cent to 3.6 per cent.
In BCP, the figures show the number of positive cases rose from 3.8 per cent to 4.1 per cent this week.
Additionally, three more people died in BCP where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate in the week ending June 24. The figure in Dorset stood at two deaths.
Overall, 859,690 vaccinations have been given in the BCP region as of July 4. Of these, 245,390 were a third dose or booster jab.
In the Dorset Council area, the overall total stands at 902,387 – with 270,390 of these a third or booster dose.
Public Health Dorset said: “This is a reminder that Covid is still with us. We should continue to take simple steps to reduce the spread of respiratory infections, being particularly mindful of those who are more vulnerable to these viruses.
“By wearing a face covering, washing your hands regularly and taking good respiratory hygiene measures, you can reduce the risk of catching and spreading illnesses. If you feel unwell, you should stay at home and avoid contact with other people until you feel better.”
