AN unauthorised encampment has set up camp on an area of land in Poole.
Around nine caravans and associated vehicles are currently located on land in Ryall Road in Canford Heath.
Police are aware and are liaising with BCP Council.
A Dorset Police spokesperson said: “Dorset Police received a report at 12.40am on Wednesday 13 July 2022 relating to an unauthorised encampment at Ryall Road in Poole.
“Officers have attended the site and are liaising with those present as well as the local authority.
“We will continue to monitor the situation and work with our local partners and will take appropriate further action if required.”
BCP Council said: “We are aware of an unauthorised encampment consisting of 9 living units and associated vehicles at Stinsford/Ryall Road, Canford Heath in Poole.
“Our staff are visiting site to carry out the statutory welfare and educational needs assessment, along with any necessary risk assessments in order to determine the level of support to be given to the group.
“We will be visiting, liaising with and monitoring the site going forward.”
