A CHRISTCHURCH artist has followed her "dream" by opening a new studio, teaching art classes to both adults and children.
Rhiannon Williams has pursued her life long passion and opened 'For the Love of Art' art studio in Highcliffe.
Rhiannon fell in love with art at a young age, after working in other professions she decided to follow her "dream" and re-train as an art teacher.
The newly opened studio means she can run more classes, courses and workshops than she did before.
Rhiannon said: "I love art and I want to pass on my love to as many people as possible. I am a local girl from Highcliffe and I wanted to bring something fun and creative to our lovely high street.
"My business has been running for over a year between Highcliffe and Milford on Sea, so putting down roots in my local community and near my existing student base made sense."
She added: "As an experienced teacher, I progressed to Head of the Art & Design Department, teaching graphics, photography, textiles and art from age 11-18.
"Unfortunately, creative subjects are side-lined in education in this country; coupled with this, I do not agree with the way that art is taught and graded. For these reasons, I left school teaching to pursue my dream of teaching art to adults and children outside of the education system.
"Class sizes are small to ensure good 1-1 tuition during the class. I teach children aged 7-11, teens aged 12-15 and adult classes, mostly aimed at adult beginners and improvers.
"I cover a wide range of media from watercolour and acrylic to tonal pencil and ink, clay and printmaking, chalk and oil pastel and many more you are also encouraged to be experimental as the best learning happens when you make mistakes."
Rhiannon also offers 1-1 tuition for adults, GCSE and A Level art students.
