AN OFF-ROAD motorcycle which was ridden in a manner deemed to “cause alarm and distress” was stopped by police in Poole yesterday. 

Officers from the Poole neighborhood policing team were in Turlin Moor recreation ground when they spotted the motorcyclist riding dangerously. 

A section 59 warning notice was issued to the rider.

A spokesperson for Poole Police said: “Officers from Poole neighbourhood policing team were in the area of Turlin Moor Recreation Ground this morning where they witnessed an off-road motorcycle being ridden on the recreation ground/public area, in manner that would cause alarm and distress to members of the public using the recreation ground/public area.  

“The rider was stopped and spoken to and words of advice were given and a section 59 warning notice was issued to the rider.” 

The warning notice was part of Dorset Police's crackdown on anti-social behaviour, known as Operantion Relentless.

Operation Relentless aims to remind residents and visitors anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated in the county.

Examples of anti-social behaviour include abandoned vehicles, graffiti and flyposting, damage to public property, rubbish and fly-tipping and excessive noise.
