AN investigation has been launched after a man was reportedly raped in Bournemouth after a night out.
Detectives are appealing for information after a man was reportedly sexually assaulted by another man at an unknown address.
The victim, a man aged in his 20s, reports being out in Bournemouth town centre with friends on the night of Saturday July 9 before being sexually assaulted at the address by another man during the early hours of Sunday July 10.
The victim remembered waking up in a doorway in the Ashley Road area of Poole between 4.30am and 5am and he then made his way home, police have said.
Detective Constable Fran Howard, of Bournemouth CID, said: “We are carrying out a full investigation into this incident and officers are supporting the victim. I am appealing for anyone with information to assist our enquiries to please make contact with us.
“I understand the victim knocked on the door when he woke up in a doorway in the Ashley Road area during the early hours of Sunday 10 July, but the female resident who answered was unable to help him and asked him to leave. I would be keen to speak to this woman as she may have information that could assist our investigation.
“We are also keen to speak to a man who came across the victim’s phone and returned it to him at the Esso garage in Ashley Road during the early hours of Sunday 10 July. Again, we are keen to speak to this individual as a witness who may have information that could help us establish the timeline of events that night.”
