A DOG owner’s concern is growing for the welfare of her 11-year-old dog after it went missing during a walk near a Bournemouth golf course.
Tricia Rutter was walking her two dogs around the Queens Park golf course yesterday (July 14) at around 11.30am when her black Hungarian Puli dog Raven “got spooked” by something before running into nearby bushes.
An immediate search proved fruitless and the “skittish” dog has been missing since.
There were subsequent sightings of Raven shortly afterwards in the car park by the clubhouse and later in Richmond Park Road which very near to Tricia’s home – leading her to think the dog tried to make its way home. However, Raven has not been seen since yesterday leaving Tricia and her husband “very upset”.
She told the Echo: “The weather is so hot and she hasn’t got any cover or water. I don’t know how she’s going to cope. She will be very thirsty, hungry and scared.
“She had a Holter on with a tag and my number. But in the past when we’ve left it on after a walk she has chewed it off – so she may have gnawed it off this time too.”
Like all Puli dogs, Raven has a corded (dreadlock) coat and is small in size.
The dog is also described as “quite skittish” meaning it may not be easy for a stranger to take it, however it is friendly with children and other dogs.
Tricia has asked that if anyone sees Raven to let her know and not to try and take the dog. She also asked if those in the area could leave bowls of water out in case Raven returned.
