BRITISH Airways passengers travelling from Milan to London were diverted to Bournemouth yesterday morning.
BA Flight 0561 left Milan Linate Airport at 7.28am on Friday, July 15, bound for London Heathrow.
However, due to long delays into Heathrow yesterday morning, it was diverted to Bournemouth Airport where it landed at 8.22am.
Delays at Heathrow were due to only one runway being open for take offs and landing.
British Airways, on its flight status website section, said: “We’re very sorry, this flight scheduled from Milan to London, has been diverted to Bournemouth.”
It remained in Bournemouth for more than an hour before leaving shortly after 9.30am and making the half hour trip to the original target destination of London Heathrow.
