PET retailer Jollyes, will be opening a new store at Wessex Gate Retail Park, in Poole.

The branch is expected to open on August 20 in what was previously a Brantano footwear shop.

Jollyes offers live animals, food, accessories, toys, pet homes as well as services such as dog grooming, washing and veterinary.

The Jollyes website says: “From modest beginnings in Enfield as a single store in 1971, Jollyes has grown into one of the largest chains of pet superstores with over 70 stores, across the United Kingdom and Ireland as well as a substantial Ecommerce fulfilment.”

Dorset residents welcomed the announcement on social media. One resident said: “They have one in Gosport and it’s a really nice store, happy to see one in Poole.”

Another said: “I’ll certainly be popping in many times.”
