A CHARITY will be holding a beach clean after thousands flocked to the coastline this week to enjoy the hot weather.
Sea Shepherd UK, a marine wildlife conservation organisation, has scheduled a beach clean for Boscombe Pier on Saturday July 23.
It comes as a number of Dorset beaches faced mass littering amid the heatwave.
Karen Kermode, a regional coordinator for Sea Shepherd UK, said: “We’ve all been disappointed with the amount of litter left on our beautiful beaches after glorious days in the sun. We want to do something about it.”
Sea Shepherd UK are inviting people to take part in the clean, which will run between 2pm and 5pm.
The charity will also be hosting talks on their marine conservation projects, Sorted Surf Shop will speak about the environmental impacts surfers face, and Oly Rush from Project Planet will share the story of his swim around the Cayman Islands.
Food will be provided by café Earthling to those taking part in the clean.
