A COMMERCIAL passenger flight due to land at Bournemouth Airport was diverted to Bristol.
The Ryanair flight from Tenerife was due to land at 3.55pm.
However, after reportedly circling the airspace around the site at Hurn a couple of times shortly before 4pm, the plane’s arrival destination was switched to Bristol Airport.
A Ryanair spokeswoman said: "This Ryanair flight from Tenerife to Bournemouth (July 19) diverted to Bristol due to windy weather conditions at Bournemouth.
"Affected passengers have been notified that transport to Bournemouth is being arranged.
"We apologise for this inconvenience, which is entirely beyond our control.”
The flight reported landed at around 4.20pm.
A Bournemouth Airport spokesperson said: "The aircraft diverted because of adverse wind conditions caused by a brief passing storm. Passengers will return to Bournemouth by coach."
