TWO teenagers accused of murdering a 35-year-old musician in his home address have blamed each other for the fatal attack which left the victim with more than a dozen stab and slash wounds, a court has heard.
A boy from Bournemouth, 17, and a boy from Christchurch, 16, are accused of murdering Edward Reeve at his home address in Heath Road, Walkford, on New Year’s Eve 2021.
Jurors at Winchester Crown Court have heard from both defendants who have sought to blame each other for the “vicious” attack.

Giving evidence on Wednesday, the Bournemouth teen told the court his co-defendant stabbed Mr Reeve after a “heated argument” broke out over a stolen computer.
The Bournemouth teen said Mr Reeve and the Christchurch teen stood up during the argument and the latter grabbed a knife from a cabinet by his side.
He said the Christchurch teen then stabbed him in his frontal area. Mr Reeve fell over onto his front and the Christchurch teen pulled a second knife from his trousers and attacked him further, the Bournemouth teen said.
Under cross-examination from prosecutor Riel Karmy-Jones QC, the Bournemouth teen said he saw what happened but didn’t watch it.
“I wasn’t watching it like a show,” he said.
Asked if he did anything to help Mr Reeve, the Bournemouth teen said: “No, unfortunately.”
Ms Karmy-Jones QC said: “You were showing (Christchurch teen) you were a friend to be relied on, and you were joining in. You were doing it by showing him you could take action.”
The Bournemouth teen said: “No.”
“The pathologist's evidence is it was consistent with him being chased,” the prosecutor said.
“Are you lying?”
The Bournemouth teen said: “No, I did not harm Mr Reeve at all.”
The defendant also said he couldn’t remember the passcode to his phone.
"I suggest if you were completely innocent there would be no reason to withhold the pin number," Ms Karmy-Jones QC said.

Earlier this week, the Christchurch teen told the jury he stabbed Mr Reeve “three or four” times in the left thigh and buttock, after the 35-year-old threatened him with a dumbbell.
The Christchurch teen said: “He was slowly coming towards me, once he got into range that's when I stabbed him.
“When he turned, it was towards (Bournemouth teen),” he continued. “I was still in the exact same place, I remember (Bournemouth teen) stabbed him in the front of the body.
“I just remember a slash to the face, that's when Ed dropped the dumbbell and put his hands to his face.
“He went for his face again and hit his hands.”
Both teens deny murder, neither can be named and the trial continues.
