SHE'S done London, Paris and New York - now it's Destination Bournemouth and Poole for entrepreneur Rachel Lowe.
The creator of the taxi-based board game has her sights set on the south coast for the next version of Destination.
And local businesses are being offered the chance to get involved and secure a place on the playing board by joining the Daily Echo and sponsoring the game.
Rachel came up with the idea of Destination while working as a taxi driver in Portsmouth to support her young family.
Her prototype game was rejected by manufacturers so she decided to develop it herself but her hopes were severely dented when she appeared on BBC2's Dragon's Den and was spurned by the "dragons."
The multi-millionaire "dragons" refused to part with their cash, claiming she did not know her market, could not compete with Monopoly, didn't know her figures and didn't stand any chance of getting any press coverage.
But just three months after her Dragon's Den ordeal was filmed, Rachel had the last laugh when Destination become Hamley's biggest-selling board game, outselling Monopoly.
There are now 15 different editions on the shelves, including Paris, New York, Portsmouth, Cardiff and South Africa.
The game sees players move round a map of the relevant city or towns with a playing piece shaped like a taxi, visiting well-known destinations and getting caught at traffic lights.
- Businesses can get involved in the Bournemouth and Poole edition from £500. For more information contact Howard Watson at Leepeckgreenfield on 023 8076 9988 or via email at howard.watson@lpgf.com.
