APPEALS have been made to find a car stolen from a man with cancer in Bournemouth.
Seventy-two-year-old Harry Harrington had his “pride and joy”, a grey Jaguar XF estate, stolen from his driveway in Doveshill Crescent between 11pm on Saturday, July 23 and 6am the following day.
Mr Harrington said he relies on his car for work and day-to-day activities and has been finding it “difficult” ever since it was stolen.
He added: “I can’t get to work where I’m doing painting. I need it to get about and with the cancer it gets to me sometimes.
“I've also got no spleen, which makes me liable to catch anything.”
His daughter Becky Harrington said: “He’s been living at his house for more than 20 years and he called me on Sunday morning to tell me his car had been stolen.
“He relies on that car so much and he paid £12,000 for it.
“How can any human being, let alone a man of his age and with his health issues, have to walk everywhere? He’s struggling massively. Driving is his way of life; he's lost without it.”
Becky added the car was spotted driving along Colombia Road, Bournemouth, going towards Peters News at 5:30am.
The family did not have a picture of the car to share.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "We received a report relating to the theft of a motor vehicle from outside an address in Doveshill Crescent in Bournemouth between 11pm on Saturday 23 July and 6am on Sunday 24 July 2022.
"Local officers have been made aware and enquiries are ongoing. No arrests have been made."
